Surbhi Jyoti was born on 29 May 1988 into a Punjabi family. She is a talented theatre artist and debater has won the national debate thrice. She hails from Jalandhar in Punjab. She belongs to a Punjabi Brahmin family. Hot Surbhi has appeared in many Punjabi movies and she has played the character of Zoya in her television debut show "Qubool Hai" on Zee TV.

Surbhi Jyoti a well known actress in Punjab, has worked in several movies and music videos of Punjab. She has also worked in the Punjabi serial Kach Diyan Wanga. She starred in popular Punjabi movies such as Munde Patiale De and Raula Pai Gaya. Surbhi Jyoti has been the anchor for many shows as well. Currently, she was seen playing the role of Zoya Farooqui in Zee TV's Qubool Hai, which helped her to gain significant media attention and popularity. Family
Surbhi Jyoti hails from Jalandhar in Punjab. She belongs to a Punjabi Brahmin family, Hindu religion. Her father is into the rubber chemical business and her mother is a home-maker. Surbhi's younger brother Sooraj Jyoti is pursuing his engineering (B.Tech). Her entire family has been supporting her in acting career. She says, "I am the only one into the field of acting and my parents have also been supportive from the time I decided to get into the industry. They have always trusted me and have faith in me that whatever I choose would not be wrong. Especially my dad who has guided me through out." Currently she is living in Mumbai with her cousin.
Education
Surbhi Jyoti completed her schooling from Shiv Jyoti Public School, Jalandhar and completed her graduation from HMP (Hansraj Morarji Public College). Later, she did her MA in English from Apeejay College of Fine Arts. In her childhood, she has actively participated in debates and have won national champion trophy thrice in debate competitions. Since the last seven years, she have been participating in theatre.
Zoya in Qubool Hai
Surbhi Jyoti was seen playing the role of Zoya, female protagonist in the popular Muslim backdrop show Qubool Hai on Zee TV. Zoya was a Muslim girl, someone who walks hand in hand with the changing times. Zoya does not shy away from speaking her heart out when she knows that she is right. She represents the educated progressive youth of today who are very well sorted and rooted in their culture. Surbhi is quite similar to her on screen character Zoya as they both don't like serious people and cricket is their favourite sport.
Sanam in Qubool Hai
Surbhi was first paired opposite Karan Singh Grover and they indeed set the screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry. However, later Karan walked out of the show, after which Raqesh Vashisth stepped in as Asad Khan. And now, after the show's recent 20 year leap, Surbhi is seen as in new character Sanam opposite Karanvir Bohra and newbie Paaras Madaan.

Surbhi Jyoti is all set to host an interesting TV show with Meiyang Chang. Both will co-host Zing TV's upcoming show, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, which will present which will portray romantic, passionate tales of young lovers which drives the characters to take extreme steps to honour their love. Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya is being helmed by producer Vikas Gupta, who has earlier given us some brilliant shows like Gumrah, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Webbed.
Boyfriend/Dating
A little birdie whispered in our ears that this petite lady is apparently dating actress Madhurjeet Sargi's brother Zoravar Singh an aspiring actor. The couple met in Punjab and it was love at first sight for Zoravar who kept chasing Surbhi. She recently accepted his proposal.

When contacted, Surbhi said, "I just know him through a common friend. In fact, he is not even on my phone contact list. So, it's obvious that I am not dating him." but Zoravar hit a different tone. "No we are not dating but, we are very good friends. We went to college together and also participated in plays." Well.. two different statements here. What to believe?

Surbhi said I am scared of lizards. I am short-tempered. I am a bookworm. I cry a lot both when happy and sad so I dont use glycerine while shooting for the show. Tears come naturally to me. She loves to cook. The only thing she hates about Mumbai is its traffic. Surbhi has won National Debate Championship thrice and two times out of that, she spoke on women empowerment. Like Zoya, Surbhi is also feisty in real life.
Surbhi Jyoti and Karan Singh Grover
Surbhi shares a great bond with Karan Singh Grover who was playing the role of Asad in Qubool Hai. They both are very much comfortable in each others space. Karan said in an interview - "Surbhi is a brilliant actor actually and a lot of fun to work with. She understands every layer of the scene, bringing us on the same page. In spite of being so young she understands that every scene and episode has a different layer. She is very easy to work with and to be around."
